Explain Selective Catalytic Reduction to Me

Thanks to some fancy engineering, SCR is a complicated process that dramatically reduces your diesel truck’s emissions and your monthly diesel costs. Rather than explain all the science behind the technology, there’s more value to you in highlighting the basics and the overall value to you.

The SCR system injects a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) agent into the exhaust stream of a diesel engine. The DEF converts the harmful nitrogen oxides in the exhaust into harmless nitrogen and water, as well as small amounts of carbon dioxide that are discharged from the tailpipe.

You’ll be happy to know DEF is a harmless solution made with 32.5% organic urea and 67.5% deionized water. So it’s clean and will not affect the environment in a negative way.
