We’ve had great feedback from our own customers about how they can rely on their Hino trucks, but we wanted to see for ourselves what the online reviews are like, so we decided to took a look. We scoured the internet in search for negative Hino truck reviews and were surprised at how few there actually were.
Here’s our tally:
Our first stop was a post about the reliability of Hino Trucks on The Trucker’s Report. There were 6 reviews, with 5 of them giving extremely positive feedback on Hino trucks and the 6th didn’t even mention Hino at all.
The next set of reviews we could find were on lawnsite.com, with a thread that spoke specifically about the 2013 Hino 195 COE. It seems that those in the landscaping business love their Hino trucks, with comments such as “The truck never skipped a beat the whole year, it's an absolute pack mule!” and “I really really recommend them for a solid landscaping rig.” On this four page thread, we could only find one slightly negative comment where one driver found that the visibility was similar to a Dodge truck and that wasn’t his preference, but otherwise, it was rave reviews yet again.
We found a very informative forum on The TruckNet UK Drivers (the model references are slightly different due to the models available in the UK versus here in Canada) dealing specifically with a tipper truck model. Although one driver found the ride a little bouncy, he’s insistent that it’s “probably one the best, if not THE best for getting in and out of a tip.” Naturally the British are a little more wary about investing in a Japanese model, but on the whole, the Brits seem to be quite enthusiastic about the great value and durability of Hinos as compared to the European options.
Online reviews are a good way to get a sense of what is happening with individual customer experiences across the board, and the forums on Hino trucks confirm what we have found here with our own customers at Somerville Hino in Ontario: great performance and excellent reliability for an outstanding price. It’s no wonder we feel a sense of pride whenever another truck hits the road.
